October has officially arrived in all its glory, which means there’s a brand new issue of Soirée to peruse.
The October cover story features Kwami and Clarice Abdul-Bey. The two founded the Arkansas Peace and Justice Memorial Movement and are working through a variety of outlets to acknowledge and learn from the racial and political injustice in Arkansas’ history. The issue also shines a light on Chris James, the founder of the Roots Art Connection, which uses poetry, hip-hop and community to transform students’ lives and give local artists a voice.
The new issue also features a conversation with Dr. Karama Neal on what drives her and what she’s passing on to the next generation of women. Dive into the 2020 Giving Guide and discover local nonprofits that need your support more than ever this year. (And find out how to use our guide without breaking the bank.)
Take a trip around the city through the eyes of Bernice Garden Manager Amanda Isbell as she dishes on her favorite sights, eats and shops around Little Rock. And as always, we have your monthly nonprofit news.
