Rooftop Cinema Series Announces Summer Movie Lineup

Outdoor movie nights are back on the calendar in downtown Little Rock, and this time with a bird’s eye view.

The Rooftop Cinema series has set its summer lineup, bringing free movie screenings to the top floor of the parking deck at the corner of Sixth and Scott streets on Thursday nights. This is the latest evolution of Movies in the Park, the series hosted by the Downtown Little Rock Partnership previously held at First Security Amphitheater and the Main Street Pocket Park.

This iteration of the community event has hosted a handful of screenings since last fall, and is now in full force for the summer, complete with popcorn and beer from Stone’s Throw Brewing available for purchase, plus lots of room to spread out on blankets and chairs.

Here’s what’s coming to the big screen this summer:

  • May 23: “Black Panther”
  • June 27: “Arthur the King”
  • July 25: “Creed III”
  • Aug. 22: “Mad Max: Fury Road”
  • Sept. 26: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem”
  • Oct. 24: One of the “Ghostbusters” films chosen by the community

Movies will start at dusk, which this week means about 8 p.m. In case of rain, the screenings will take place on a lower level of the deck.
