Movies in the Park — a series of free outdoor movie nights at the First Security Amphitheater — is one of our favorite downtown activities, and we just got our hands on this year's lineup.

The diverse range of blockbuster movies are shown at sundown, and guests are invited to bring their own chairs or blankets, or get there early to snag one of the theater seats. (But whatever you do, don't forget the bug spray.)

Here's the 2019 schedule:

  • June 5: "Thor: Ragnarok" (PG-13)
  • June 12: "How to Train Your Dragon 3" (PG)
  • June 19: "Dumb & Dumber" (PG-13)
  • June 26: "Apollo 13" (PG)
  • July 3: "The Greatest Showman" (PG)
  • July 10: "The Sandlot" (PG)
  • July 17: "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" (PG-13)
  • July 24: "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)" (PG-13)
  • July 31: "The Help" (PG-13)

Families, pets and picnic baskets (but no glass containers) are all invited to enjoy the movies under the stars. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18, and an ID is required.
