After a 16-year run in the historic Hillcrest neighborhood of Little Rock, Acadia Restaurant announced it's closing this Tuesday, June 30.

The announcement came late Friday by way of Facebook. Chef James Hale wrote:

"Friends, Tuesday June 30 will be the last day of service for Acadia restaurant. I'd like to thank all of you for the tremendous amount of support we've had for a decade and a half. And to the people of the historic neighborhood of Hillcrest I am eternally grateful, I simply would never have gotten this far without the support of folks that make supporting small, independent establishments a top priority and it's the reason places like ours will always thrive in one of the best neighborhoods in Arkansas. On behalf of myself and the Acadia staff, thank you, thank you, thank you."

Since opening in 1999, the fine dining restaurant located at 3000 Kavanaugh Boulevard., served "eclectic new American Cuisine" and offered an extensive wine list. Listed as one Soirée's top outdoor dining spots, the three-tiered patio provided a shaded spot to sip cocktails and enjoy dinner while overlooking Kavanaugh.

No official word on why the restuarant is closing. We'll continue to follow this story.
