Movies in the Park — a series of free outdoor movie nights at the First Security Amphitheater — is one of our favorite downtown activities, and we just got our hands on this year’s lineup.
Making its return after canceling in 2020, this diverse range of blockbuster movies are shown at sundown, and guests are invited to bring their own chairs or blankets, or get there early to snag one of the theater seats. (But whatever you do, don’t forget the bug spray.)
The series typically runs in June and July, but in light of only recent re-openings, this year’s lineup will take place solely during the latter month.
Here’s the 2021 schedule:
- July 7: “Wonder Woman 1984” (PG-13)
- July 14: “Raya and the Last Dragon” (PG)
- July 21: “Bill and Ted Face the Music” (PG-13)
- July 28: “Arkansas” (R)
Families, pets and picnic baskets (but no glass containers) are all invited to enjoy the movies under the stars. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18, and an ID is required. The amphitheater will open an hour before showtime at approximately 7:30 p.m.
