Little Rock Weekend Guide: July 23-26

The heat is on, but so is the local fun. Let’s get into it.

Thursday, July 23

Open House at Norwood Day Floral Company // If you haven’t seen the florist’s newly expanded space in the Tanglewood Shopping Center (which more than tripled its footprint), now’s your chance. Come check out the latest florals, decor and gifts, and get in on tastings, giveaways, demonstrations and vendor booths. Stop by 1-5 p.m. Learn more here.

Thursday & Friday, July 23 & 24

Classic Movies at Ron Robinson Theater // The popcorn is flowing once again at the CALS theater in the River Market. Up first is “Twister” on Thursday and “Pulp Fiction” on Friday, both at 7 p.m. Learn more here. Bonus: Come back on Saturday night for the Pat Travers Band. More on that here.

Thursday – Sunday, July 23-26

Closing Weekend at Local Theaters // The stages are hopping this weekend as a handful of shows wrap, and we have zero complaints about the lineup. There’s “Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, “The Cake” at Argenta Contemporary Theatre and Wildwood Park for the Arts‘ Triple Threat Summer Academy production of “The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition.”

A Night With Moses Moody Featuring Stephen Curry at the Statehouse Convention Center // Little Rock’s own Moses Moody, NBA champion and former Razorback, is back home for his Motivate One Foundation’s annual lineup of community events and youth programming, and this time he’s bringing a guest: teammate Steph Curry. At the center of the fundraiser will be a fireside chat between the two Golden State Warriors, with all proceeds going toward the nonprofit’s mission “to support youth and young adults as they create opportunities for a brighter future.” It starts at 7 p.m. Learn more here.

Friday & Saturday, July 24 & 25

Dopamine the Art Show at New Deal Studios & Gallery // All bets are off at this show centering dadaism’s rejection of reason. Embrace the absurd and explore the works of 22 local artists, plus activities like figure drawing, screen printing and poetry on demand. See it all 5-8 p.m. Friday or 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday.
