Fat Tuesday may have come and gone, but the Mardi Gras fun continues this spring with the annual Barkus on Main celebration in downtown Little Rock on Sunday, April 7.
Correlating with the city’s eclipse festivities, this year’s “Bark Side of the Moon” event will see a deluge of dogs strutting their stuff through the Creative Corridor with prizes for best dressed, owner/pet lookalikes and more.
But it doesn’t end there. After the parade, the 300 and 400 blocks of Main Street will shut down for a family-friendly Mardi Gras block party complete with gumbo, a crawfish boil, local vendors, a hurricane station, beer garden and plenty of beads.
The festivities begin at noon, while the parade begins at 2:30 p.m. at Sixth and Main streets. Registration is still open for pups wanting to compete, and the first 100 dogs to check in will receive a complimentary “wag bag” loaded with goodies.
