C’mon, Barbie, let’s go party!
America’s favorite doll has taken over the Esse Purse Museum & Store, and she’s brought her friends along for the fun.
“Barbie and Friends,” a celebration of decades of iconic culture, fashion and friendship, is now open at Esse through Feb. 28.
Throughout the very pink, very sparkly exhibit, visitors can get up close with rare and collectible dolls, fashions, furnishings, marketing materials and more.
Featuring the first Black Barbie and Black Ken, the collection celebrates how the world of Barbie continues to evolve while keeping friendship, representation and imagination at its heart.
Presented in collaboration with the Vintage Barbie Museum of Tulsa, the exhibit offers a chance to revisit favorite childhood memories while introducing younger generations to the doll that has inspired decades of creativity and fun since 1959.
After strolling through the iconic SoMa museum, make a stop at Loblolly Creamery for a scoop of the limited-edition Barbie Swirl, described as “a dreamy pink cherry vanilla ice cream packed with playful pink buttercream swirls.”
Esse is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn more about Esse and the exhibit, visit the museum’s website. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
