Bark Bar & Grille Closes in SoMa

One of the city’s most tail-wag-worthy spots is no more. Bark Bar & Grille has permanently closed its doors in the SoMa district.

Bark Bar opened in 2017 as a pooch-centered play space, doggy daycare and eatery that has hosted various community events over its nine years in business, everything from Super Bowl watch parties to nonprofit fundraisers, with dogs and dog lovers at the heart of it all.

Owners had taken a “temporary pause” in mid-August due to the extreme heat, but announced the closing on social media over the weekend. A portion of the statement reads:

After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to permanently close Bark Bar & Grille.

Bark Bar has always been so much more than a dog park, bar or restaurant. It became a community — a place where friendships were made, dogs found their best friends, birthdays were celebrated, drinks were shared and an incredible number of memories were created.

To every person who walked through our gates, brought their pup to play, attended an event, grabbed a burger, supported our team, shared our posts, recommended us to a friend or simply made Bark Bar part of your routine: thank you.

We are incredibly proud of what Bark Bar has meant to Little Rock, and even more grateful to the people and pups who made it special.
