It's no secret local farmers play a huge role in the community, and now Heifer International is celebrating them with a brand new event.

The inaugural Urban Farm Fest is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the Heifer Headquarters in downtown Little Rock, offering a chance for locals to tip their hats to farmers while enjoying a casual night of food and fun down on the farm.

Ditch the fancy shoes and get in on the many lawn games that will be set up around the campus along with a lineup of local food trucks. You can also tour the farm and get to know the animals that live there, all set to the live music of Brown Soul Shoes.

A portion of the night's proceeds go back into Heifer's work with local agriculture and economic development.

Heifer's Urban Farm opened in fall 2016, and is home to community gardens, workshops and the types of animals Heifer provides to families through both domestic and international programs. If you can't make it to the fest, you can still visit the garden at any time.
