The Thea Foundation’s Art Department returns for its seventh installment, this time featuring the paintings of Little Rock artist John Kushmaul and the sounds of musician Bonnie Montgomery with a reception on Friday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m.
The exhibit, titled “River, Buildings, Streets, Bridge,” is a personal look at Kushmaul’s view of the capital city, marked by urban landscapes and landmarks.
“Little Rock serves as a convenient subject because of the variety of architecture covering the history of modern life in Arkansas,” Kushmaul said. “The streets, power poles, wires and satellite dishes show parts of the layer of technology that covers this history.”
The May 8 reception is $10 and includes food, an open beer and wine bar, live music from local favorite Bonnie Montgomery and her band, and the chance to win an original painting by Kushmaul.
The Thea Foundation gallery’s hours are 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 5 p.m. on Monday – Friday, and is located at 401 Main St. in North Little Rock. For more information, call (501)-379-9512 or visit the Facebook event page.
