The Top 8 Things to Do in the Metro This Weekend

Friday, November 20

Make a Feast at The Innovation Hub, North Little Rock: ’Tis the season to stuff ourselves silly with incredible food and then go take a nap on the laser cutter. Well, at least it is at The Innovation Hub. The Maker series is all about coming together to create, and this month that means enjoying holiday culinary creations. Food and drinks are provided, but if you have a favorite dish, bring it to share! Dinner starts at 7 p.m. For tickets and more info, click here.

Grand Opening at Southern Sway Boutique, Little Rock: There are certain truths that come to light around the holidays each year, and one of them is this: You need new clothes. Lucky for you, there’s a brand new boutique in Hillcrest that’s going to hook you up. Located at 3608 Kavanuagh (previously The Independent), Southern Sway Boutique is opening its doors with delicious cocktails and is offering door prizes, free gifts with every purchase and special deals on merchandise. We’ve been swayed. The fun starts at 5 p.m. For more info, click here.

Third Friday Argenta Art Walk in downtown Argenta, North Little Rock: Lace up your walking shoes and hit the streets. Every month, the Argenta Arts District opens up with special exhibits for folks to peruse. Walkable galleries include Mugs Café, The House of Art, Greg Thompson Fine Art and Argenta Gallery. We even heard that the new boutique Maddox is offering giveaways, specials and champagne to celebrate. Oh yes. The Third Friday Art Walk runs from 5-8 p.m. For more info, click here.

Turkey-lympics at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Little Rock: Think you have what it takes to take home the gold at this family fun day event? Never crossed your mind? That’s ok, too. Now you’ve got a chance to test your might with an afternoon full of fall-themed games and activities like Pin the Tail on the Turkey, Holiday History and Touchdown Turkey. Refreshments are provided and the event is free and open to the turkey-loving public. It all goes down from 12-2 p.m. For more info, click here.

Cranksgiving 2015 in Little Rock: It’s a bike ride, a food drive, a scavenger hunt and totally awesome; it’s Cranksgiving. Riders will race to complete a list of tasks around town all in the spirit of Thanksgiving, like purchasing non-perishable goods or performing random acts or kindness. Last year’s list asked for a photo of a teammate shaking hands with a bearded stranger, as well as a photo of the sign of a specific grocery store and a short list of groceries to purchase. Donations will go to local food pantries to help out our hungry neighbors. Start time is 1 p.m. For more info, click here.

Tastefest at Old Chicago, North Little Rock: This one’s a no-brainer, folks. For $7, not only do you get to chow down on some of Old Chicago’s delicious offerings on their heated patio, but you also get to enjoy brews from some of your favorite local spots. Featured goods include selections from Lost 40, Stone’s Throw, Brick Oven, Diamond Bear and more. Must be 21 years or older, duh. Come get your fill from 2-5 p.m. For more info, click here
