Many of you know, dear readers, that this is my favorite month of the year. Not only does October mean fall temps are inching closer (hallelujah!), but it also means it’s officially festival season in Little Rock. Couple that with our annual philanthropy issue and it’s a perfect fit for all the magic this month brings.
So if you need me any given weekend in October, I’ll be out enjoying these tasty festivals benefiting local nonprofits.
Festival of Wines

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: When restaurants compete, you win. It all goes down cheesy at this annual fest, chips included.

Hillcrest HarvestFest
Oct. 12
Benefiting The Allen School
If your menu go-to is a charcuterie board because you can’t decide what you want, then you’ll love perusing the lineup of food trucks at this neighborhood fest.

Cupcakes for Goodness Sake
Oct. 12
Benefiting CareLink
Your sweet tooth thanks you in advance. This event grew from a plucky indoor competition to a full-on block party bakeoff in just a few year’s time, and 2019’s fest is all Halloween-themed.

Chili Fights in The Heights
Oct. 26
Benefiting Arkansas Foodbank
Everything’s coming up chili at this Kavanaugh throwdown. Cruising the tailgate-esque street fest with a bowl of chili in hand — does it get any more October than that?
