Taggart Design Group is a Little Rock, Arkansas based architecture and construction firm specializing in projects that require a high level of design sensitivity and technical expertise. We offer a skilled set of consultants and professionals who work together to coordinate projects from design to construction to interior décor.

Soiree: Tell us about this gorgeous pool project.

TDG: This project was so unique and exciting to work on. A previous client referred these two families to us. This pool actually serves as one living space for two homes in Hot Springs. The families both wanted a pool and wanted to maximize their shared back yards.

Soiree: This is an amazing room, what’s the story behind it?

TDG: You’re looking into the living room and then into the dining room of a home in west Little Rock. What we loved about this new construction project was getting to know the family and incorporating their family’s style into the look and feel, and concept of these rooms. This family is Italian and in staying true to their roots, there are Mediterranean references throughout both rooms.

Soiree: Tell us about this project – it’s got such a cool, modern vibe to it.

TDG: Funny because this house is actually across the street from the Mediterranean house mentioned above.

So this photo was taken from the study and you are looking through the living room into the kitchen. It’s a great space – the swimming pool is to the left and the entry to the house is on the right.

The couple that own this home had just become empty-nesters. They wanted to build their last house – the house they would retire in. They have a very modern/contemporary style and wanted an open area with clean lines. This environment lets them come in with fun colorful accessories to change up the space when they are feeling the need to make changes.

Soiree: The projects we’ve discussed so far are all residential. Do you work on other projects?

TDG: Absolutely. We are not limited to residential, but we do really like working on those types of projects. We have done some commercial projects with Ouachita Baptist University, some nursing homes and others.

It might be a misconception that we prefer to work on contemporary projects, but that’s certainly not true. We have worked on several traditional and restorative projects.

Generally speaking, the projects that make us the most excited, aren’t because of the size or budget of the project, but are the projects with clients who are open to working with us. When we can get a good team between us and the client, that is what is fun.

Soiree: What else do you want our readers to know about Taggart Design Group?

TDG: It’s a family affair here at Taggart – Father + Son + Daughter + another draftsman/project manager. We are a five year old firm, anxious to grow and work with you.
