Rose’s Famous French Fries at The Faded Rose are not only some of the best fries our city has to offer, but also represent one of Little Rock’s top appetizers, period. Yes, they’re that good! And at a very reasonable $4.95 for a large order, it’s almost impossible not to start off the meal with a batch.
And that’s exactly how our dinner began on a recent Saturday night for my family of four.
When that heaping pile of thick-cut potato wedges arrived at the table, nothing else in the world mattered, other than getting each piece dipped into the most delectable buttermilk dressing. The dressing, itself, is lighter than you’d imagine, but a perfect complement to the meaty potato wedges.
Ten minutes later, all remnants from the entire plate were gone.
Devout lovers of shoestring fries, please take note, The Faded Rose’s version will not be your thing … and that’s fine by me. But if you do enjoy a perfectly cooked, heartier fry with subtle seasoning, this will be right up your alley. I do advise keeping the salt and pepper shakers close by, as the fries need a good coating of each–a small imposition for an otherwise ideal eating experience.
Consistent, unpretentious, and quality food has been a hallmark of The Faded Rose for more than 30 years. Rose’s Famous French fries are all those things, but just make sure you also leave a little room for the shrimp and grits, crawfish étouffée, fried catfish po-boy, or shrimp creole.
