The Acansa Arts Festival is Back, Announces New Executive Director

The Acansa Arts Festival is back for its second year!

Taking place Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, we’re expecting another great lineup this season, showcasing high caliber local talent alongside national acts. At the helm of this year’s festival is the newly announced executive director, Kate Quinlan-Laird.

Quinlan-Laird is a transplant to Arkansas from New York. A graduate of Terry College of Business at the Univeristy of Georgie with a background in nonprofit and capital campaign fundraising, Quinlan-Laird hopes to build on the success of Acansa’s inaugural season.

“Support of the arts is a direct investment in the economic well being of our community,” said Kate Quinlan-Laird. “A vibrant and progressive arts community helps to retain and attract a talented workforce for our city and region.”

The goal of the five-day event is to celebrate and benefit the arts while establishing Arkansas as an arts and culture destination. Read our story about Acansa’s inaugural season featured in our August 2014 issue.
