The 23rd Annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival Kicks Off Tonight

The 23rd Annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival kicks off tonight and we are super pumped about it.

The HSDFF will screen dozens of films over the 10 day period with lots to look forward to.

The Academy Award-qualifying festival scheduled “Glen Campbell…I’ll be Me” to open the HSDFF. The fill was directed and produced by James Keach and produced by Trevor Albert, of “Walk The Line” and “Groundhog Day” fame respectively. After the showing, there will be a reception and Q&A with the filmmakers and Campbell’s wife and children, who appear in the film.

The festival will close with a showing of “To Be Takei,” the story of George Takei from a WWII internment camp, to the starship Enterprise, to Internet superstardom. Takei will also be present for a Q&A after the film.

Attendees can also visit the family sector of the festival, which includes the film “Mudbloods,” a look into the real-life collegiate sport of Quidditch (yes, it’s Harry Potter, and yes, we will be there).

Other featured visitors include actor-turned-director Luke Wilson, actresses Joey Lauren Adams and Tess Harper, former Olympic Diving Champion Greg Louganis, producer/director Harry Thomason, Arthur Agee of Hoop Dreams, illusionist James Randi and more.

The HSDFF will hit the spa city Oct. 10-19 at the Arlington Hotel and Spa in downtown Hot Springs.

There are way, way too many films and activities going on for us to list here, so definitely make sure to check out their site for more information.
