‘Test Drive Your Seat’ Ahead of Robinson Center’s Upcoming Season

Every great performance experience starts with the perfect seat.

Before a new season of Broadway shows, ballet productions and symphony concerts takes the stage, the Robinson Center is inviting audiences behind the scenes for a special preview event.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, Celebrity Attractions, Ballet Arkansas and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will join forces to host “Test Drive Your Seat,” a free community open house designed to help patrons get to know the venue and everything coming to its stage this season.

Held from 4-6 p.m., the event offers visitors a chance to explore the center at their own pace, whether they’re yearly subscribers or first-time theatergoers.

Guests are encouraged to check out the performance hall, sit in different sections to find their favorite view and learn more about each organization’s upcoming season. Representatives from each will be available to answer questions about performances, subscriptions and ticket packages, with the opportunity to purchase tickets on-site.

“Test Drive Your Seat is our way of throwing open the doors of Robinson Center and letting people experience the venue before the curtain even goes up,” says Deana McCormack, market director for Celebrity Attractions. “Whether you’re a longtime subscriber or you’ve never been to a show here, this is the perfect low-pressure way to see what’s coming this season — and find the seat that’s right for you.”

The open house also offers one of the first opportunities to see Robinson’s newly relocated box office. The new permanent location and exterior ticket windows were designed to create a more visible, convenient and welcoming experience for guests purchasing tickets, picking up will call orders, exchanging tickets or receiving patron services.

“Robinson Center is home to three of Little Rock’s premier performing arts organizations, and this event is a great reminder of just how much incredible live performance is happening right here downtown,” says Catherine Fothergill, associate artistic director of Ballet Arkansas. “We’re excited to welcome the community in and share what’s ahead for our season.”

In addition to exploring the venue, attendees can enjoy refreshments, register to win Broadway merchandise and enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to “Hamilton.”

“Music brings people together, and we love any chance to connect with our community outside of the concert hall,” says Brian Wolverton, director of sales for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. “Test Drive Your Seat is a wonderful opportunity for people to explore the season and see themselves in the audience.”
