EXCEL Program and Academies of Central Arkansas are designed to connect high school students to career and college pathways based on their passions and interests. Partners, which include Baptist Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, First National Bank, Entergy and UAMS, are among 13 industry leaders that provide students with real, relevant learning experiences through internships and externships.

LRSD is the largest provider of public early childhood services.  Every classroom has a certified lead teacher and a highly-qualified aid, giving the youngest scholars the foundation they need to ensure future educational success.

Special Services

As the state’s second largest school district, LRSD has resources to meet the needs of individual students. Whether a child thrives in a gifted and talented learning environment or has special needs, LRSD provides a welcoming, nurturing educational atmosphere for all students.

Exciting Projects

New additions that include Dr. Marian G. Lacey K-8 Academy, as well as a science wing and field house at Little Rock Central High, will soon join Little Rock Southwest High School as the latest state-of-the-art facilities in the LRSD fleet.

The new facilities will include advanced 21st century learning environments and expanded career tech opportunities.

Forest Heights STEM Academy has an intense focus on technology for students K-8 and several LRSD campuses have EAST labs, which afford hands-on learning with many forms of technology.

A continuum of studies allows elementary students to transition to secondary schools for award-winning robust robotics and coding programs. Career Tech Ed opportunities in health care, construction and law enforcement connected to technology prepare high school students for college and competition in the workforce.
