A lot has changed since Oral Edwards started his career in the grocery business in 1959, but the Edwards family’s high level of service has remained the same.
In 1962 when Edwards got the opportunity to become part owner in a new Forrest City grocery store, one wonders if he knew just how big his company would grow.
Today, Edwards family-owned GES, Inc. is the corporation that operates seven Edwards Food Giant stores and five Edwards Cash Savers stores all located in Arkansas.
Known for meat that is cut fresh daily and their extensive selection of heat-and-eat entrees and side dishes, Edwards continues to serve the evolving grocery industry by investing in facilities, new services and its team members. Always looking for ways to better meet the needs of shoppers, in 2017 the company launched Edwards Curbside, an online shopping service that allows shoppers to order their groceries online, have them picked by a professional shopper and delivered to their home or car.
Edwards Food Giant and Edwards Cash Saver stores strive to be good corporate and community citizens. Team members and leaders of the company support through local youth sports, charities, civic clubs, community development and statewide board memberships. The company believes that in order for the Edwards businesses to be successful, the communities in which they operate must also be successful.
