Regional Food Innovation Center Coming to North Little Rock

Just the name Food Innovation Center got us excited before we even know what was cooking up in North Little Rock.

Twenty-six communities from all over the country were chosen to take part in Local Foods, Local Places by the White House Rural Council and six federal agencies, which supports local food systems and economic action. It will be forged together with the help of agricultural, transportation, environmental, public health and regional economic experts.

The Innovation Hub in NLR has resources in places that the Regional Food Innovation Center will have access to, growing the development of local food systems and technological and small businesses.

Along with advancing food safety, agricultural technology and public health, the center will also aide in the development of value-added products while offering support for expanding businesses.

“We are very pleased and honored to receive this assistance to develop a Regional Food Innovation Center with our partners,” said Warwick Sabin, Executive Director of the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub.  “We look forward to creating more opportunities for food producers, entrepreneurs and others to build sustainable businesses, stimulate the economy, and further improve their communities.”
