MISSION
Historic Arkansas Museum Foundation supports the museum’s mission to communicate the early history of Arkansas and its creative legacy by preserving, interpreting and presenting stories and objects for the education and enjoyment of Arkansans and visitors.
On Nov. 4, the Foundation’s biennial Candlelight Gala invites you to Come to the Table as we celebrate Arkansas foodways – the intersection of food in the culture and tradition of Arkansas – from the Delta to the foothills of the Ozarks. The Gala raises money to purchase Arkansas Made art and objects for the museum’s permanent collection, saving Arkansas’s cultural and creative legacy for all to appreciate long into the future.
FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS
Held under a tent on the museum’s grounds, Candlelight Gala guests will enjoy the best of Arkansas’s food heritage, including Jones’ Bar B Q, Rhoda’s Famous Hot Tamales, catfish from Lassis Inn and an all-Arkansas meal by Diamond Chef Mary Beth Ringgold. Live folk music from Northwest Arkansas and blues from the Delta will fill the air as Gala goers bid on unique silent and live auction items, including Arkansas Foodways-inspired experiences.
