Make Plans for the 51st Annual Quapaw Quarter Spring Tour of Homes This Weekend

This weekend, one of our favorite Little Rock traditions is taking place in the Quapaw Quarter. The 2015 annual Spring Tour of Homes will mark the 51st year that historic homes and impactful buildings will open their doors to the public, showing off just how gorgeous the district is, and trust us, they have plenty to brag about.

And we’re not the only ones to notice. This year, the Quapaw Quarter Association’s tour received the Grand Old Classic Special Event Award at the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism Henry Awards.

It all starts at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, with the breathtaking Candlelight Tour until 7:30 p.m., and a dinner at Christ Episcopal Church and after party will follow. On Sunday, the day begins with an 11 a.m. Brunch and Garden Tour at Historic Curran Hall, followed by the Afternoon Tour from 1-5 p.m. Guests will enjoy interior tours, trolley rides, free music and food trucks.

What’s great about this year’s tour is that most of the buildings have never been in the lineup before. Here’s where the tour will take you:

  • Haile Cottage at 417 W. 13th St.
  • 1890s house at 1411 Broadway Street
  • Firehouse Hostel and Museum at 1201 Commerce St.
  • Christ Episcopal Church at 509 Scott St.
  • Historic Curran Hall at 615 E. Capitol Ave.
  • Herron Horton Office/Studio/Residence at 1219 S. Spring St.

Tickets can be purchased for individual events or in bundles on the QQA website, at the Little Rock Visitor Information Center or by calling (501) 371-0075. Proceeds from the tour benefit the QQA’s historic preservation programs.
