Juneteenth in Da Rock Kickoff at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center // We’re not even to spring yet, but we’re already looking forward to this summertime block party. Art Insights: Aging Well at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts // Continuing the new series for AMFA is this panel conversation in conjunction with the recently opened exhibition “A Month of Sundays: Art and the Persistence of Time.” The panel will feature Dr. Catherine Crisp, Garbo Hearne, Rebecca Schrock and Sarah Thomas for a discussion on how creativity can support longevity and joy. Dr. Kathryn Hall-Trujillo at the Robinson Center // The Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation is bringing back its annual Distinguished Laureate Lecture Series. This edition features the founder of Birthing Project USA discussing her work to reduce maternal mortality rates in marginalized populations. It starts at 6 p.m. and is followed by a reception. “Oklahoma!” Opening Weekend at the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church // Whether you’re a farmer or a cowman, all are welcome at the Actors Theatre of Little Rock’s latest production of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic. Central Arkansas Home & Garden Show at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds // Don’t let the groundhog fool you. Now’s the time to make your garden plans, and that goes for the interiors, too. Saturday, Feb. 28

Midsouth Black Expo at The Venue at Westwind // “The largest celebration of Black business in Arkansas” is back. Now in its 22nd year, the event will once again bring together more than 100 performers, vendors, food trucks, artists, cultural exhibits and more under one roof. Explore it all from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Learn more here.

Senior Dog Adoption Event & Fundraiser at Baja Grill // We couldn’t think of a more delightful pairing if we tried. Henderson Home Animal Rescue will set up shop at Baja Grill where you can dig into tacos and margs while meeting some adorable, adoptable senior dogs. Stop by 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Learn more here.

Keith Anderson at UA-PTC CHARTS // Next up in Pulaski Tech’s performing season is this country music star known for hits like “Pickin’ Wildflowers” and “Every Time I Hear Your Name.” Guests can also opt for dinner at CHARTS prior to the concert. Little Rock Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K // This is it, folks. Time to put all those training miles to work. Spanning two days with the theme “Once Upon a Time in Little Rock,” the kids’ run, 5K and 10K will take place Saturday morning, with the marathon and half marathon taking off Sunday morning. “Carmina Burana” at the Robinson Center // Next up in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks Series is this show featuring the talents of vocalists Keely Futterer, Nicholas Simpson and Rolfe Dauz performing the iconic work, plus a choir of 230 local voices, including the debut of the new ASO Children’s Choir. Before each concert, guests can join a free lecture with associate conductor Valery Saul and guest artists. Catch the show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday or 3 p.m. Sunday. Learn more here.

Soup Sunday at the UA Little Rock Jack Stephens Center // Hope you’re hungry, Little Rock. Hosted by Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families (and headed to a new location), Soup Sunday pulls in tons of soups, sides and treats from some of Little Rock’s finest and favorite restaurants, all for guests to enjoy and all to raise money for AACF.
