Have you always wanted to serve a nonprofit in your community? Do you already serve, but want to learn more about ways you can help?
Those interested have a chance to learn all about what is required to be a nonprofit board member with at the inaugural Nonprofit Board Institute in April. The five-week course is being put on by the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance and Junior League of Little Rock every Tuesday in April.
Dates for the class are April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.
The class will focus on developing leaders for the nonprofit sector through education in all areas of board service.
Stephanie Meincke, president and CEO of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance, called it a great way for Arkansans to learn how they can give back in their communities.
“Trained board members who give their time and talent to advance the important missions of our Arkansas nonprofits bring critically needed resources to our communities,” she said.
The course will be held at the Junior League of Little Rock, at 401 S. Scott St., from 5:30-8 p.m.
The cost is $125 for Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance or Junior League of Little Rock members and $175 for non-members. Dinner and a handbook will be provided at each session.
Registration for the course is open until March 31, and is limited to 40 participants.
