It seems like every time we turn around, we hear about a new restaurant heading to our fair city. Naturally, that means two things:
1. We’re in a perpetual state of excitement.
2. We keep our figurative social media head on a swivel.
There are a few spots with fast approaching opening dates, and of course, they’ve been teasing us. Here’s a look at the progress of your future favorite restaurants.
Heights Taco & Tamale Co.
Yellow Rocket’s newest endeavor labels itself as a “true mashup of your Mexican & Tex-Mex favorites influenced by local Arkansas food culture.” Lee Edwards, who you might recognize from places like Big Orange and Local Lime, posted this sneak peek of what we’re sure will be his favorite spot in the new joint.
At the Corner
Taking the spot of The Hop, aptly-named At the Corner will serve all the Americana favorites like burgers, salads, fries and onion rings, promising new twists at the modern diner. Promise fulfilled.
Boneheads Grill
The latest addition to The Promenade at Chenal is a fast casual place that will offer up fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, grilled fish, shrimp and piri piri chicken. We’re still focused on their grilled mahi mahi. Good thing we only have to wait until Friday.
PIRO Brick Oven & Barroom
We’ve been waiting pretty patiently (well, maybe not so much) for this SoMa pizzeria to open its doors. Their Instagram posts have been pretty brutal, particularly to a hungry stomach. The countdown is on for Feb. 17.
Sunrise Cafe
Sometimes it’s the simplest photos that make you the most anxious. What’s that tool for? What are they mixing up in that thing? Those are some pretty heavy duty oven mits… They’ve postponed a grand opening until Monday, but we’re lucky it’s still so soon. Otherwise, the questions might get the best of us.
