I love a good year-end retrospective. It hasn’t quite been a year since my move to Soiree, but we thought thought a “Year in the Life” section would be fun to compile. We started with numbers, counting the nonprofits featured, the money raised, the people profiled and the parties covered. As a relative newbie on the team, I was blown away by the impact our magazine has in a year. We also included some “editors’ picks” for favorite photos, articles and other features. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed compiling it.
Also in this edition, Miracle Ball Chairwoman Terry Quinn shares why the Arkansas Children’s Hospital auxiliary is a family affair, major volunteer Lana Rahn enlists in The Salvation Army and Brian Lang, new Chief Curator at the Arkansas Arts Center, helps us prepare for the 55th Annual Delta Exhibition. Plus, we review The Packet House and share our favorite places to warm up with a hot cup of soup.
Finally, you’ll find our special section of the 98 best lawyers in Little Rock, plus 22 great gift ideas from local retailers. Here at Soiree, we shop locally whenever we can, especially in December. There’s just something festive in running around town, listening to Christmas music on the radio, checking off the shopping list with assistance from friendly shop owners and staff. Much more preferable than shopping online, if you ask me. There are so many great boutiques and unique stores that deserve our support this holiday season. We hope you’ll do your part.
Happy Holidays from all of us at Team Soiree!
