Heights Corner Market To Open This Friday

A new market located in the heart of The Heights neighborhood? Count us in.

The Heights Corner Market will host its official grand opening Friday, March 31 from 3-6 p.m. at 5018 Kavanaugh Boulevard. Located in the former Terry’s Finer Foods location, the revamped space combines a traditional store feel with fresh organic foods, chef-prepared meal and delivery options and locally made goods. The market is open from Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

New owners Lou Anne and Eric Herget talked about owning a market in the Terry’s Finer Foods storefront 18 years ago when they were dating. As fate would have it, their dreams finally became a reality. Lou Anne, a former interior designer with Cobblestone and Vine, has managed to brighten up the space while keeping the retro feel.

“It’s brighter, fresher and younger,” Lou Anne says. “We’ve knocked down interior walls and added new lighting and shelving.”

The couple has added fresh-cut flowers, cookbooks, bath and body products and more prepared foods to the market’s inventory. Lou Anne and Eric have partnered with their son and President of Chef Shuttle, Ryan Herget, to allow at-home deliveries from the Corner Market.

“The community loves this store,” Lou Anne says. “We want to bring in a younger crowd, too, from Heights, Hillcrest and even West Little Rock.”

For customers’ furry friends, there will also be samples of organic dog and cat treats and food from Stella’s Barkery. The first 100 customers will receive a reusable Heights Corner Market shopping tote.
