Giving Guide: Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches

MISSION:

Since the sheriffs of Arkansas founded the Youth Ranches in 1976, it has been home to more than 2,300 boys and girls from every corner of the state. Children come to the ranch through no fault of their own; many have been abandoned, abused or neglected. At the ranch, children find hope and healing. Boys and girls live in large family homes with loving houseparents who raise them like their own. Every child receives proper health care and educational opportunities. Children also have an opportunity to gain real-life experience and work with many animals through the ranch’s educational farm program.

FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS:

The ranch consistently has a waiting list of children and receives an average of 20 calls per week looking for beds for foster children. To accommodate these children and to do its part to fight the Arkansas foster care crisis, the ranch has built a new home and hired additional staff. Learn more and support at youthranches.com!
