Fridays on the Lawn Return to AMFA This Week

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts invites you to kick off your weekends on its historic grounds with the return of the Fridays on the Lawn series.

Each Friday in June, AMFA’s outdoor space will be filled with lawn games like bocce ball and cornhole, all open to the public. You can also try your hand at one of the sketching stations, where a Windgate Art School instructor will lead a short lesson on landscape drawing centered around the museum.

Guests are, of course, welcome to explore the museum itself, including the full-service restaurant Park Grill.

“Fridays on the Lawn continues the AMFA’s dedication to making art approachable in a fun and inviting setting, as guests are welcome to come in, cool off and enjoy the air-conditioned galleries during these hot summer months,” says Alfred Warren, AMFA manager of public relations. “Whether you arrive early for family fun or stay late to enjoy a game of Giant Jenga or ladder toss with friends, there’s something for everyone!”

The series made its debut last summer and returned for the month of October as well. No word yet on a fall series this year.

Picnic blankets, lawn chairs and pets are all allowed, though coolers, large bags and outside food or drinks are not.

Fridays on the Lawn run from 5-8 p.m. throughout the month. Learn more on the AMFA website and by following the museum on Facebook, X and Instagram.
