The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play “Doubt: A Parable” is next in the lineup for The Studio Theatre under director Bob Bidewell and assistant director Brandon Nichols.
Written by John Patrick Shanley, the production tells the story of a 1960s Catholic school in the Bronx and the drama that unfolds when the rigid principal Sister Aloysius takes on Father Flynn after suspecting him of an indecent relationship with a student.
In 2008, the play was made into a film starring the likes of Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Viola Davis and Amy Adams — all of whose performances were nominated for Academy Awards, as well as another nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
“Doubt” opens on Friday, Sept. 16 and will run at the community theater through Sept. 24. Evening performances take place at 7:30 p.m. with the Sunday matinee beginning at 2:30 p.m. Click here to purchase your tickets.
