If you haven’t jumped on the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Pops Live! series, then 1) you are definitely missing out, and 2) you are definitely lucky because you have one more chance to catch it.
The fifth and final concert in the 2014-15 series will feature some of your favorite music from “Wicked,” “Sound of Music,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Mary Poppins” and more, all under the direction of music director and conductor Philip Mann.
At center stage will be Broadway star Ashley Brown. The soprano is best known for originating the title role of “Mary Poppins” on Broadway, which she followed with a national tour of the same show, then as Belle in “Beauty and the Beast,” Laurey in “Oklahoma,” Magnolia in “Showboat” and a whole host of other shows and performances. Essentially, she’s a big deal.
You have two opportunities to catch the final Pops Live! concert. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m on Saturday, May 9, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 10. The ASO will perform at the Pulaski Academy Connor Performing Arts Center at 12701 Hinson Road in Little Rock.
