What’s a typical day look like?
We start the morning in my office with training and motivation in the conference room. Then I run appointments until mid-afternoon. I try to leave the office early to take the kids to their afternoon and evening activities.
What type of coverage do consumers often forget to purchase?
Life insurance for a stay-at-home spouse. Most people do not realize how expensive it would be to hire someone to do that job and therefore neglect to take adequate coverage out on them.
Is it better to have a high insurance premium and low deductible or vice versa?
People should “self-insure” as much as possible. High deductibles and high liability limits are the most important. Most people can take care of smaller claims, but very few people can pay out $1 million in liability stemming from an accident.
How often should coverage be reviewed?
Annually, unless you have a major life event in between annual reviews.
What makes your customer service outstanding?
My team here is amazing. I am fortunate to have a group that loves to educate our customers on the products that best fit their needs. We strive to do things right on the front end so our customers are never surprised after something occurs.
How can insurance cover inheritance tax for my children?
This is something that is overlooked too often. If someone owns property that has been in their family for generations and they want to make sure it is in the future, life insurance is key. Inheritance tax laws are constantly changing and having a policy in place to cover those expenses can make a difficult time a lot easier.
What’s the difference between insurance for replacement costs versus actual value?
Run if you hear someone offering actual cash value, especially on roof coverage. Replacement cost is just that — the current cost it would take to replace something regardless of age. Actual cash value takes the replacement cost and then depreciates that value based on age.
What are the most important factors to consider when choosing a life insurance company?
Financial stability is No. 1, hands down.
