Beboppers Dance Rescheduled for Feb. 13 in Hot Springs Village

Beboppers Dance, taking place from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 (originally planned for Jan. 30 but rescheduled because of inclement weather) at Hot Springs Village’s Coronado Center, was started last March by HSV residents Joyce and Chuck Allen after they attended a Mardi Gras dance and noticed that the music of the 1950s and  ’60s was a sure way to fill the dance floor.

Admission to Beboppers is $2.50. Although HSV is a gated community, the HSV gatekeepers allow visitors in when they mention the event.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. There’s three solid hours of music on CD and a cash bar. Participants are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.  Dressing in 1950s attire is welcome but not required (Chuck reports that one bobby-sox-wearing lady recently brought a hula hoop). Average attendance is 176, Chuck reports.

Along with the Feb. 13 dance, here’s the rest of the Beboppers dates for 2010 is available below. For more information e-mail the Allens.
