Barefoot Studio Hosting Free Glow Yoga Sept. 12

Kicking off a weekend yogathon across central Arkansas, Barefoot Yoga Studio is hosting a night of free glow yoga this Friday, Sept. 12.

Yogathon Arkansas began in 2012 as a push to do away with excuses for those teetering on the edge of yoga interest. This weekend, over 18 classes of different styles will be open to the public, entirely free. Along with Barefoot, other studios involved include Blue Yoga Nyla, Floating Lotus Yoga Studio and Day Spa, Wesley Foundation, The Yoga Place, Yoga Studio of Little Rock and Zenspin Studio. For a full list of classes, click here.

Glow yoga will feature all levels of energetic vinyasa practice, as well as a live video set from local DJ/VJ/graphic artist G-Force. Barefoot will also be accepting donations for The Van, the Little Rock-based mobile relief force for the homeless.

Glow yoga is exactly what it sounds like and every bit as fun as you’re imagining right now. With nothing but backlights in the room, wear white and you’ll light up the place. Or you could wear all black and completely disappear if you’re that ashamed of your chaturanga; your call.

The class runs from 6-7:30 p.m., but if you’re feeling extra glowy and want some neon body paint, show up at 5 p.m.

The event is free, but you have to register online first and space is limited. Click here to claim your spot.
