We always love a good burger – especially one that we’ve been missing for the last few years.
After a three-year absence, Back Yard Burgers opened again in Little Rock on Monday.
Yes, we know it’s a chain but to us, those flame-grilled burgers are worthy of a special mention simply because they’re delicious. Franchisee Josh Powell said they “cook the way you would in your back yard” rather than on a greasy flat surface.
Back Yard Burgers originally opened in Little Rock in 1991, but in October 2012, the company closed all of its corporately owned restaurants in Arkansas due to bankruptcy, and at the time, the Little Rock location was one of those.
For the last three years, Church’s Chicken has anchored the 305 North Shackelford Road location, but now Back Yard Burgers is back – this time as a franchised location.
Powell, who grew up in the restaurant business, said that he’s confident the location will be successful.
“We have the best meat on the market, 100 percent black angus,” Powell says. “We’re back. We’re back to our roots. We have the bigger burger and better meat. We like to say that our secret ingredient is fire.”
The restaurant will be open 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. every day
