“Pear” by Tifany Hamlin, acrylic and wax crayon on canvas, 8×10.
ON THIS PIECE:
“I’m obsessed with bright colors, especially those found in nature. Flowers are my muse and most of my artwork features abstract bouquets. But I’m also fond of fruits and vegetables, and plan to incorporate more of them in my work to come. The layers in this pear came together in such a fun and funky way.”
ARTIST BIO:
Tifany Hamlin is a self-taught, mixed media artist living in North Little Rock. Her main inspiration comes from the time she spends outside in her garden and on her travels with husband, Harry.
“Pear” is a part of Hamlin’s “Affirmations” series where each of her art pieces begin with a layer of handwritten affirmations.
“The affirmations are like a hidden message of love and peace that I hope my audience connects with when they view my work.”
Multiple layers of abstract painting come together to create the final artwork. The energy of love can spread far and wide, Hamlin says, and her art is intended to carry that energy forward.
