Artist Spotlight: Sondra A. Strong

“Two Sisters” by Sondra Ann Strong, 2024, mixed media on illustration board, 11×14.

ABOUT THIS PIECE

“In the last few years, I discovered a new passion for creating mixed media collages. I love incorporating my style of painting with collaging. Collaging has added a depth to my visual works that brings me joy. I have enjoyed exploring a plethora of patterns and utilizing textured papers and materials to create colorful images that reflect the simplicities of life. I often think of my sister and how our mother dressed both of us in patterns, textures and colors that captured the mood of the occasion. This was how we were identified as siblings — unique, but similar in theme.”
