Arkansas Chamber Singers Announce Heavenly Season

It’s about to get heavenly up in here. 

The Arkansas Chamber Singers, under the direction of John Erwin, has announced its upcoming 2016-17 season, the title of which is “For Heaven’s Sake.”

“Through the template of myriad religious belief systems man has continued to seek the elusive ‘garden of paradise’ and the gates of heaven,” Erwin said in a press release. “The wonderful and captivating array of music centered on this idea is a favorite theme for many great composers, and our singers are thrilled with the opportunity to bring some of this exquisite repertoire to life!”

The season includes three shows, each with multiple performances around Little Rock. 

 

“In Paradisum”

  • Friday, Oct. 7, 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church
  • Sunday, Oct. 9, 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church

 

“Heaven Down to Earth”

  • Friday-Sunday, Dec. 9-11 at the Old State House Museum
  • Tuesday, Dec. 13, 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church
  • Thursday, Dec. 15, 3 p.m. at Holy Souls Catholic Church

 

“Bach in the Castle of Heaven”

  • Friday, March 17, 7:30 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church
