This #girlboss is taking things to the next level.
The Arkansas Educational Television Network just announced its new executive director: Arkansas native and Courtney Pledger.
According to our sister publication, Arkansas Business, Pledger will take over at AETN later this month as successor to longtime director Allen Weatherly, who passed in November. Arkansans know Pledger as the woman who turned the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival into a national talking point (read more in our 2015 feature), but her resume also includes time as an executive producer at DreamWorks Animation and senior vice president of development and production at Radical Pictures.
“I take this new role with excitement for the future of Arkansas’ only statewide public media outlet, looking forward to making programs in Arkansas, about Arkansas,” Pledger said. She later added, “AETN has the ability to tell the story of Arkansas in a way no one else can.”
