Accents: Highlights of the May Issue

An emphasis on some of the best moments of the May issue, behind-the-scenes secrets and more.

Getting Wine Wise

Jeff Yant dipped into his impressive personal wine collection for this month’s story on his journey as a sommelier. It was on set, however, that he dropped perhaps our favorite wine wisdom to date: “There are two types of wines. You either like it or you don’t.”

Standout Quote

“I just want to live. I’ve got things to do.”

– Carol Wadley, on how cycling helped build her determination amid four cancer diagnoses

Downtown Developments

Fitting all the latest happenings in downtown Little Rock and Argenta on two pages is an impossible task. If you want to do your own homework and see updates as they develop, we suggest following these accounts on social media:

Behind the Scenes

In our cover shoot with Access board member Olivia Ramsey, we opted for a simple, soft, feminine wardrobe to keep the visual focus on her. For hair and makeup, we went with a dewy “no-makeup” makeup look that lets her natural beauty shine, while her blonde locks and peachy tones sing against the neutral backdrop.

Hats Off to the Grads

This marks the third year since Soirée began publishing our Head of the Class special section, which we took over when our sister magazine Little Rock Family ceased publication. Each year it’s been one of our most-read stories, and we couldn’t be happier about it. We encourage you to flip through the pages, look for familiar faces and then reach out with congratulations. Text their parents, tag them online and let them know how excited you are for their futures.
