Weather is always a key factor in photo shoot planning, and while Arkansas summers are certainly tricky, they can’t keep us away from the most beautiful corners of the metro.
“The serenity of Alda’s Magnolia Hill was almost enough to make us forget about the heat and humidity,” stylist and editorial contributor Josie Burnett says of our shoot with Cara Brookins. “Lush landscaping, cozy nooks and the warm hospitality of the owners (plus resident horses Lieutenant Dan and Delilah) made it easy to see why this place is so special. We can’t wait to go back.”

“Luxury isn’t about having more flowers. It’s about creating an emotional experience where every detail feels effortless, even though an incredible amount of thought went into it.”

Any chance to step into the legendary Dreamland Ballroom is a welcome one, and we happily embraced the historical space for our cover shoot with Bailey Clark for Ronald McDonald House Arkansas & North Louisiana. The care gone into preserving Taborian Hall makes for such a memorable backdrop, and almost makes West Ninth Street feel like a world away.

Team Soirée would like to give a special shoutout to two of the crew who kept us going this summer: editorial intern Mary Crow and photography intern Marshall Deree. You’ve already seen their work on our pages, website and social media, and you’ll see plenty more in the days to come.
