Powell was born in upstate New York, grew up in Sherwood and attended the University of Arkansas, where she obtained her undergraduate degree. Powell entered the insurance industry in 2002 and has since made working with retirement and preretirement individuals the focus of her career. She holds life and health licenses in Arkansas, Texas, Florida and North Carolina. Today, Powell resides in central Arkansas with her husband Matt and their two children, Abby Rhea and Lilly.
