Local Musician Films Video with Stephen Baldwin

I recently had the privilege of interviewing rising pop-rock artist Cory Lamb.

Lamb is from Little Rock and has a passion to write music inspired by his faith. He said, “I want my music to impact people and change them. I want to give them a message of hope and love.”

He recently filmed a music video with Stephen Baldwin for his album title song “Break the Cycle.”

“Stephen and I have the same publicist,” said Lamb.  Their publicist knew Stephen was interested in directing, so when the idea of directing Lamb’s video was presented to Stephen his interest was peaked. “Stephen listened to the song and he loved the message,” Lamb said. “We met and he told me his vision for the video and it played out exactly like what he’d explained to me.”

They filmed the video on location in Tallahassee, Florida with a group of students from Florida State University’s film school.

Lamb also recently filmed a video for “It’s A Good Day,” which was directed by Life Garland.

“We filmed the video for this song in L.A. on a one day shoot,” said Lamb. “The song is about being selfless, doing things for others, and helping your community.”

Lamb said the song is about the importance of living beyond your self and so it was important for the video to have a lot of shots of real people out in the community helping others. “We wanted to film volunteers doing the job,” he said. “They don’t get enough credit.”

Check out the video at the end of this article.

Lamb grew up in Little Rock, attended Arkansas Baptist and after a stint in L.A. at the Musicians Institute he moved back to Arkansas.  He came back to Little Rock to work and live as a full time musician and when he got here he said, “Opportunities just came in.”

Lamb is currently on tour with Seventh Day Slumber, making his way towards the west coast. So if you can’t make it out to one of their concerts in the next few weeks you should check out Cory Lamb’s website, follow him on Facebook and Twitter. It’s not the same as a live show, but it still gets you connected with Lamb.

You can pick up his record at Wal-Mart, Life Way, Family Christian Stores or on iTunes and Amazon.
