Classic Movies at Ron Robinson Theater // The popcorn is flowing once again at the CALS theater in the River Market. Filmland at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts // The stars are out in Little Rock this weekend for the Arkansas Cinema Society’s annual film festival. From Natural State flicks and industry workshops to after parties and conversations with Hollywood actors and filmmakers, the glow of the silver screen is definitely calling. “The Remarkable Resignation of Dr. Joycelyn Elders” Opening Weekend at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre // The Rep is dipping into Arkansas history with the latest production in its SummerStage series. Written and directed by the theater’s artistic director Steve H. Broadnax III, this new play follows Elders’ journey from a sharecropper’s daughter in rural Arkansas to her tumultuous stint as U.S. surgeon general. Learn more here.

2nd Friday Art Night in Downtown Little Rock // It’s 2FAN time, aka the monthly lineup of downtown businesses opening their doors for after-hours artistic fun. Scorchin’ Squirrel Trail Run at Ferncliff Camp & Conference Center // Who’s up for a challenge? This annual run combines summer heat, trail inclines and beautiful scenery for your choice of 10K, 11.5 miles, 15.5 miles or 19.5 miles.
