QQA Summer Supper Series Returns This Week to MacArthur Park District

Dinner comes with a side of history at the Quapaw Quarter Association‘s Summer Suppers.

The yearly event series kicks off on Wednesday, July 8, where guests are invited inside the historic Mills-Davis House for “A Taste of the Times,” an evening that pairs Arkansas history with thoughtfully curated bites inspired by four different eras.

Hosted by homeowner Jennifer Carman and photographer Kat Wilson, the event offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Little Rock’s beautifully restored historic homes while enjoying food, conversation and local history.

Built in 1878, the Italianate-style Mills-Davis House is a standout in the MacArthur Park Historic District and a testament to the power of historic preservation. After a devastating house fire in 2015, Carman purchased the property the following year and led an extensive rehabilitation, restoring the home with historically accurate details and period-appropriate finishes.

Guests will also have the chance to learn more about the hosts’ work. In addition to her expertise as an accredited appraiser and art historian, Carman has built a career researching, curating and preserving fine and decorative arts. Wilson, whose studio is located inside the Mills-Davis House, is an acclaimed photographic artist whose work has appeared in publications and museums across the country, including he Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. at the Mills-Davis House, located at 523 E. Sixth St. QQA members receive a 10% discount on pre-purchased tickets.
