Sounds in the Stacks Brings Concerts to Libraries

Raise your hand if you’ve ever gotten in trouble for being too loud in a library. Yep, us, too. That’s why we thought we were getting punk’d the first time we heard about Sounds in the Stacks, a fall concert series hosted by the Central Arkansas Library System.

The good news is that it’s true; you really can enjoy music at CALS branches. The bad news is that the list of piano concerts isn’t as long as we’d prefer. Nevertheless, the jams are just as sweet. Here’s where you can find them.

  • Sept. 17: Dee Brown Library, 6:30 p.m.

Sam Carroll, keyboardist for Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers

  • Oct. 8: Thompson Library, 7 p.m.

Chris Parker, keyboardist with Walter Henderson and John Bush Quintet

  • Nov. 12: Rooker Library, 6:30 p.m.

Carl Mouton, keyboardist and Director of Bands at Maumelle High School
