Book of Condolences for Paris Victims Open at City Hall

In the wake of the tragic terrosist attack in Paris, city officials have placed a condelence book at City Hall for Arkansans who want to leave messages of support for victims. 

The book will be in the rotunda through Friday, Nov. 20, then will move to the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History over the weekend before returning to City Hall Monday, where it will remain through Wednesday, Nov. 25. 

“We stand with the people of Paris during this unimaginable tragedy,” said Mayor Mark Stodola. “This condolence book is an opportunity for Arkansans pay their respects to the victims of these attacks, their families, and all of those who have been affected by such senseless terrorism.”

Beatrice Moore, the honorary French Consul for the State of Arkansas, presented the condolence book to the Little Rock Board of Directors this week. 

Jennifer Godwin, the communicating and marketing manager for the City of Little Rock, tells Soirée the book could be available to sign longer than initially scheduled depending on the response from the community.  

City Hall is open to the public from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and the MacArthur Museum is open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday.

From City Hall, the condolence book is expected to travel to the French Embassy in Washington, D.C.
