CARE Launches Paws at the Net Charity Tennis Tournament

When you hear the word “love,” do you think tennis or do you think puppies?

If your answer is the same as ours (um, both, obviously), you need to save the dates of Aug. 12-14 for the inaugural Paws at the Net event. This charity tennis tournament will be held at the Rebsamen Tennis Center with proceeds going to Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (CARE).

The tourney is a USTA sanctioned tournament with a two-event limit. Attendees will enjoy competitive matches, food trucks, face painting and a silent auction, and will even get to meet some of CARE’s rescued cats and dogs that are up for adoption.

“CARE has been ‘serving’ up homes for pets since 1998, and I am excited to see my passion for animal rescue and tennis come together for such a great cause,” CARE’s Executive Director, Ashley Younger said.

CARE is a non-profit animal rescue and spay/neuter organization whose purpose is to rescue dogs and cats facing euthanasia from local animal control facilities and to decrease the number of homeless and abandoned animals through aggressive spay/neuter programs. The group has rescued more than 3,000 dogs and cats since its inception, and has provided more than 10,000 free sterilizations for pets from limited income families.
