The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts is launching a new speaker series this season designed to connect art to the world beyond the gallery walls.
Art Insights will bring together authors, artists, curators and other experts from around the globe to share ideas that explore how creativity intersects with daily life. Expanding on the traditional art lecture format, the series will also feature voices from the health and wellness field, highlighting the role art can play in fostering connection, creativity and community.
The free public series will kick off next month with artist Lori Larusso, whose talk will explore the relationship between art, ecology and wildlife.
Upcoming Art Insights events and speakers include:
- Feb. 12: “Unnatural Habitats” with artist Lori Larusso, Dr. Laura Bernstein-Kurtycz from the Little Rock Zoo and Leslie Cooper from Quail Forever
- Feb. 26: “Aging Well” with Dr. Catherine Crisp, Garbo Hearne, Rebecca Schrock and Sarah Thomas
- March 19: “True Grit” with artist Tim Youd and writer Jay Jennings
